2-3 weeks

Method

  1. Put the almonds into the blender. Blend it into a fine paste. Increase the speed from 1 to 3 and then back to 1 within 5 minutes. Give it a rest, and start the process again.
  2. Take the paste out into the bottle, and add the olive oil.
  3. Leave the jar for 2-3 weeks undisturbed, at room temperature.
  4. Separate the oil from the particles through a strainer.

Risks & Precautions

Using the best sweet almond oil for hair – that is in its pure form – is relatively a safer option than other forms of hair treatment. However, it wouldn’t be advisable to be used if you have a severe allergy to nuts. To check its suitability for your skin, do give it a patch test. If there is no irritation, the oil is safe for you.

If you're about to go for a heat treatment, be mindful to not use almond oil as a leave-in conditioner. The oil would make it more vulnerable to burns at the hair ends and follicles. It is best to be safe.
